Dr. Nnyekaa Collins is a native of Fort Worth, TX and graduated from P. L. Dunbar High School for the Science and Engineering Professions. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. She then obtained her medical doctorate at Drexel University College of Medicine in 2010. She returned to John Peter Smith, the hospital where she was born, to complete residency in Family Medicine, and fellowship in Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Collins stayed at JPS to practice Geriatric Medicine, while completing her childhood dream of practicing medicine in the community that helped to raise her.

Dr. Collins enjoys jogging, art, and traveling with her fiancé and friends.
